The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services develops the skills, knowledge and understanding of learners to the standards required to confirm competence in an occupational role to manage practice and lead others in adult health and social care provision or in children and young people’s services. The diploma is aimed at managers and advanced practitioners working in health and social care and children and young people’s services. Units

The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services is designed to develop the leadership, management, and professional competencies required to effectively lead health and social care and children’s services. Learners must complete a maximum of 90 credits including 30 credits from the mandatory units, and a minimum of 60 credits from one of the pathways, in order to achieve the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services.

Assessment

This qualification is Internally Assessed. Each learner must create a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates achievement of all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria associated with each unit. The main pieces of evidence for the portfolio could include some or all of the following:

  1. Assessor observation or Witness testimony
  2. Learner product & Worksheets
  3. Assignments/projects/reports
  4. Record of oral and written questioning
  5. Learner and peer reports

Duration

Learners can complete the qualification through a Fast-Track Route in 9 months or a Standard Route in 12 months, depending on their experience, availability, and learning pace.
